In Safari on any Apple platform, tap the Share button and tap AirDrop, then tap the device with which you want to share the Web page. If you have Safari frontmost on two or more of your other devices, only the page associated with the device you most recently interacted with appears. MacOS shows an overlay in the Dock with the app name and device type, but not the device name, that’s available to hand off a page. On an iPad, the icon appears at the right side of the iPad app dock, looking quite similar to how it appears on a Mac. On an iPhone, swipe up and the Handoff notice appears as a lozenge that features the Safari app icon, the label “Safari,” and the actual name of the device handing off.

The icon is overlaid with an icon of the device on which the page is open, while a floating label shows Safari plus a generic label like “From iPhone” or “From Mac.” Click it to open the page in Safari. In macOS, a Safari icon appears on the Dock: at left, if the Dock is on the bottom of the screen at top, if the Dock is displayed at right. (This also works with any other app that supports Handoff, and for which you have the same app on the two devices engaged in Handoff.) This is because on iOS, Apple does not allow third-party browsers to use their own engines for security reasons). While viewing a page in Safari for macOS or mobile Safari and Safari is your foreground app, you can also open the page from your other devices. (The iOS version of Firefox is not affected by the bug as its underlying rendering engine is WebKit, the same as Safari.

Of course, once the actual software bug has been resolved, you’ll want to go back and re-enable HTTP3 so that you can use HTTP3-dependent services in the future.

This workaround applies to all desktop versions of Firefox, so it’ll work regardless of whether you are on Windows and Mac. Set this setting to ‘false’ to disable HTTP3.The workaround to the bug then is to simply disable HTTP3 loading entirely in Firefox. This means HTTP3 capability is not yet required to browse the modern web. Luckily, very few real websites actually care about HTTP3 with almost everyone either still using older standards, or providing a fallback. The actual implementation bug will have existed for a while but it has only come to the fore because Firefox attempts to connect to data analytics servers almost immediately after launching the app. In particular, the current theory is that one of Firefox’s data analytics services recently upgraded to a HTTP3-powered backend and the browser is failing to resolve it successfully. This essentially causes the browser process to hang indefinitely. The underlying issue preventing pages from loading appears to be an infinite loop bug in Firefox’s HTTP3 implementation. While the developers work on a solution to the bug, there is a fix you can apply to workaround the issue …Īffected users are simply seeing their tabs spin forever, never completing loading to show the page. We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused.“Ī bizarre bug in Firefox has cropped up that means users of Firefox are unable to load any website in the Mac, Windows and desktop Linux versions of the browser. If you’re still affected, please restart your browser.

We disabled the configuration change and confirmed this fixed the issue. Update: Firefox says the problem has now been resolved: “Earlier today, Firefox became unresponsive due to a change in defaults by a cloud provider which triggered a Firefox HTTP/3 bug.
